Katherine Legge is at it again!
The British racing driver, who made history this past March when she became the first woman since Danica Patrick in 2018 to start a NASCAR Cup Series race, will be heading back to NASCAR for the NASCAR Xfinity Series as well as the NASCAR Cup on April 19 in North Carolina.
Legge is used to being the sole female on the track. In 2005, she became the first woman to win a developmental open-wheel race in North America and by 2012 entered her first Indy 500, becoming the ninth women to ever compete in "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing" since 1911. And at last year's Indy 500, she was the only female among the 33 drivers competing for the 2024 Borg-Warner Trophy.
And since 2023, she's been doing it with the help of her sponsor, e.l.f. Cosmetics.

"e.l.f. came on board two years ago for Indy. And then last year they decided to do it in a big way and we did a big activation and won a bunch of awards for it. They say that they stand for empowering women, and diversity, and they mean it," she tells PEOPLE exclusively.
"They put all this effort behind Indy 500 last year and we made a massive splash. And honestly, it started a girl power movement within the sport and it was fantastic. It's been so meaningful."

With motorsports being a male-dominated field, Legge doesn't just want to be a role model for girls who want to be like her, she also wants to help pave the way for women to take on other roles in racing like engineers or managers.
"We're representing those women [who watch] and we're marketing for them, and they feel seen, and they feel heard, and they feel like they're part of it," she says. "Whereas before it was very much male-oriented as well as dominated. I think [last year] that we had stickers that said, 'Drive like a girl,' and stuff like that so it was just really cool."
Come April 19, Legge will be taking to the tracks in an e.l.f. Cosmetics sponsored car at the NASCAR Xfinity Series races to be held in Rockingham, North Carolina. This would be one of at least seven races this year where the British native will be driving a NASCAR-sponsored vehicle; the next one will be the Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte, for the BetMGM 300 race on May 24, followed by the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City on June 15,
To reflect the special partnership, e.l.f. Cosmetics also modified their famous, "Eyes. Lips. Face." motto to "Eyes. Lips. Fast." in honor of Legge.

Legge is a member of Team Chevrolet in NASCAR, and in addition to e.l.f., her program is also supported by Sherfick Companies, Droplight, Desnuda Tequila, Sparco and Bell Helmets.
With two solid years of partnership under their belts, Legge and e.l.f. Cosmetics are well-acquainted now. However, she admitted she was a bit apprehensive when they approached her initially.

"When I first started the relationship with e.l.f., I was like, 'Listen, I can't wear a ton of makeup under my helmet because I sweat so much, and I'll just break out and it'll be horrible," she recalls.
"People are taking pictures of me all the time — [especially] when I get out of a race car and I'm sweaty, and I'm disgusting, and I'm in the sun. [I told them] I don't want to wear a lot of makeup because I don't want to get zits under the helmet."
The brand understood, took heed of her concerns and found ways to accommodate her specific needs.
"They came up with a bunch of stuff that's sweatproof. They've got this setting that's also sunscreen called Suntouchables. They've got the tubular mascara because my eyes are always seen through the helmet visor, right? They've got a waterproof eyebrow pencil that I can wear underneath. So we worked this whole regime out and it works for me in and out of the car."
Nowadays, she's gotten her routine down to a science, but it's a far cry from where Legge's skincare journey began.

"I had just resigned myself to the fact that I didn't have good skin. And it was partly due to the fact that I was always sweating in a helmet," she tells PEOPLE. "I would take tips from reading something on Instagram or my friend would say, 'Hey, have you tried this serum?' Or whatever it was. But I'd never really got into a regimen with it."

She continues, "And really only in the last few years have I been very regimented about my skin as it's changing [and] it's getting older. So I didn't pay too much attention to sun spray or SPF or anything like that."
In addition to being more proactive about her skincare needs, the racing also keeps a handful of tried and true e.l.f. products handy. Legge reveals doesn't go anywhere without her Power Grip Primer, Lash XTNDR Mascara, H2O Proof Eyeliner Pen and a good Halo Glow Setting Powder.
