Florida baseball catcher Karson Bowen was named to the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award Midseason Watchlist on Wednesday.

In an announcement from the Wichita Sports Commission, Bowen was named to the watchlist alongside 49 other catchers from across the country, including seven from the SEC.

Bowen, a senior from Anaheim Hills, California, has played in 25 games this season for the Gators and is batting .278 with 25 hits, 15 RBI and three home runs. He's had five multi-hit games for Florida, including a season-high three hits against the Arkansas Razorbacks on March 27.

On the defensive side of the ball, Bowen has racked a fielding percentage of .992 and has committed just two errors this season. He has also thrown out four runners trying to steal bases.

Bowen played for the TCU Horned Frogs for three years before transferring to Florida before the 2026 season, and was ranked as Baseball America's No. 79 impact transfer.

During his three seasons with TCU, Bowen tallied a batting line of .308/.390/.463, 33 doubles, 112 RBI, 110 runs, 20 steals and 16 home runs. He also tallied a .990 fielding percentage across 1,261 career chances at catcher and first base.

In 2025, Bowen was named to the Second Team All-Big 12 after batting .333/.425/.516 with four home runs, three triples, 11 doubles, 29 runs and 28 RBI in 45 games.

It's the first time in Bowen's collegiate career appearing on the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award watchlist.
