Following a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Kansas City Chiefs selected Oregon linebacker Jeffrey Bassa in the fifth round with the 156th pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
The Chiefs select a high-potential linebacker in the fifth round, boasting excellent instincts at the position and a vigorous pursuit of ball carriers. He has demonstrated the ability to play some safety while at Oregon, which is a testament to his unique versatility.
In 2024, Bassa was named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten Conference with the Ducks and played in all 14 games, starting in 12 of them. He finished with 54 tackles, 1.5 sacks, two pass breakups, and two forced fumbles.
Steve Spagnuolo adds another player who can potentially move around the field and play multiple positions.
