Joshua Kimmich fired a stunning late winner after a Harry Kane brace as Bayern Munich had the last laugh in a pulsating Bundesliga table topper for a 3-2 triumph at Borussia Dortmund on Saturday which sent them 11 points clear at the top.
Dortmund thought they had salvaged a point from Daniel Svensson's side-footed volley in the 83rd but Germany captain Kimmich had other ideas and volleyed an 87th-minute winner into the top left corner.
The Klassiker came to life in the second half where Kane got a 54th minute equalizer and then converted a penalty in the 70th to bring his league season tally to 30 with a fourth straight brace.
Dortmund led in the 26th minute from Nico Schlotterbeck who was a little lucky to still be on the pitch after a fierce challenge. The referee also had mercy with the Germany defender when he tripped Josip Stanisic which led to the penalty but not a second booking.
Bayern can now seemingly only beat themselves en route to a 35th national title, and 34th in the Bundesliga era, in the remaining 10 games. They are also in the German Cup semi-finals and Champions League last 16.
Dortmund put up a superb fight after their mid-week Champions League exit at Atalanta but their wait for a first league title since 2012 will likely continue. That although they have lost only twice in the Bundesliga, both matches against Bayern.
