The Miami Dolphins' offensive line was decent in 2025, even with the loss of Austin Jackson and Jonah Savaiinaea. However, the unit in 2026 could reach a new height if Kadyn Proctor is as advertised.

Proctor surprised many when the Dolphins selected him at No. 13 overall, even more so since Vega Ioane was still available. Both general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley also indicated he was the pick all along.

Proctor is a massive 6-foot-7 and 350 pounds, and has been stated to move into the left guard spot. If this ends up being the case, the Dolphins will have two bullies on the left with Patrick Paul also in that left tackle position.

Paul has showcased his ability to move the piled, and Proctor can help that fact.

The addition of Proctor also gives the Miami offense the chance to move Jonah Savaiinaea to the right guard position, where he spent more time during college. Savaiinaea is the weaker link on the line after being the worst-rated guard in 2025.

Center Aaron Brewer and Paul indicated that Savaiinaea has looked good in OTAs and minicamp, and they expect a big leap from him this season.

That said, it is Proctor who will now act as the anchor for the line. If his high draft status and abilities translate to the NFL level, he is a cog in the offensive line that can help glue everything together.

There is also the right tackle spot to consider. Austin Jackson has had issues staying on the field, playing in only 14 games over the past two seasons.

Jackson is now fully healthy, but the Dolphins made sure to have an insurance policy in place with Proctor. The rookie is likely to take over for the veteran, but could step into the right tackle spot if need be.

Unfortunately, that would likely mean that Savaiinaea would have to switch back to the left guard position, where he was a mess in 2025.

Proctor is the main component here of what can help bring the line together. He may not have played much guard in college, but he can learn to play both positions in a significant way in the NFL.

As it currently stands, the line is Paul as left tackle, Proctor in the right guard spot, Brewer in center, Savaiinaea at right guard, and Jackson in the right tackle position.

This is a solid starting five, and the unit can be something special if they all gel together. Again, Proctor starting out at guard will give the Dolphins more versatility in general.

It all just depends on whether or not he can handle that spot. There could be some other variation that puts him on the right side, but that might only be if Jackson cannot remain healthy.

Proctor becoming a top notch guard and or tackle will also give the Dolphins added security for the forseeable future, especially if Jackson is released or moves on in free agency in 2027.
