Juventus Stalwart Makes Major Future Admission: “Never Asked to Leave”
Juventus defender Gleison Bremer has no interest in leaving the club despite recent reports suggesting otherwise. Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport via Tuttomercatoweb, the Brazilian star addressed his future amid growing interest from Galatasaray.
Bremer joined Juventus from city rivals Torino in 2022. He has since established himself as one of Serie A’s standout defenders. Furthermore, his impressive performances in Turin have not gone unnoticed, with numerous top European clubs setting their sights on the 29-year-old.
However, Bremer’s rotten injury luck has seen him spend the best part of the last two seasons on the sidelines. Formerly linked with the likes of Manchester United and Bayern Munich, he has recently emerged as a concrete target for ambitious Super Lig giants Galatasaray.
Moreover, reports suggested Juventus were open to cashing in on Bremer after the player allegedly requested a transfer. Keen to put speculation to bed, the robust center-back decided to go public and open up on his situation.
What did Juventus star say?
“I have not asked Juventus to sell me. Especially at a difficult moment, for the club and for me, it would never cross my mind; it would be like running away,” Bremer admitted. “If one day I part from Juve, perhaps when I’m older, I’ll walk out the front door with my head held high.”
Bremer regained full fitness in the second half of last season and immediately re-established himself as one of the cornerstones of Luciano Spalletti’s team. With Juventus desperate to return to the Scudetto picture next term, his presence at the back could be crucial.
