Dutch speed skater Jutta Leerdam has made a name for herself at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo. She won the gold medal in the women’s 1000 metre speed skating, and silver medal in the women’s 500 metre speed skating.

The reasons why Leerdam is making a name for herself go beyond her on ice accomplishments. She has 6.3 million followers on her Instagram account, and is in a high-profile relationship with American boxer and social media influencer Jake Paul.

Now we have found out that Leerdam could earn $1 million from Nike for showing her Nike sports bra after winning Olympic gold. It may be the most lucrative unzip in sports history.

In an interesting interview with Grace Goulding of olympics.com on Sunday, Leerdam told the sports world who her childhood idol was. It just so happens to be American superstar skier Lindsey Vonn. The Minnesota native won gold in the women’s downhill at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.

Leerdam stated the following:

“Lindsey Vonn definitely inspired me when I was young because she didn’t just ski, she also did things off the slopes, like brand deals and social media. I thought it was super cool.”

Like Leerdam, Vonn has been involved in high profile sports relationships. First with 15-time major golf champion Tiger Woods, and then with former National Hockey League star defenseman P.K. Subban.

When Leerdam won her gold medal in the women’s 1000 metres speed skating, she posted a winning time of 1:12.31, which happened to be an Olympic record. She was 0.28 seconds faster than her Dutch teammate Femke Kok, who had a second place time of 1:12.59.

Leerdam followed up her success in the women’s 1000 metres, with a silver medal in the women’s 500 metres. Leerdam posted a time of 37.15 seconds, which was 0.66 seconds slower than Kok.

At the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing, Leerdam won her first Olympic medal. It came in the women’s 1000 metres, as Leerdam posted a time of 1:13.83. Miho Takagi of Japan won gold with a time of 1:13.19.
