From what I've seen of your interests, I doubt you'll fall in love with it. But for diehard fans of the JP world or just that type of movie, it's at least a decent watch IMO.

I have a coupon for a free video on Prime so 5.99 is waived so I will try and watch it this weekend. No Cards game so I should have the time

Did you really like any of the other Jurassic sequels? If the answer is no, you should probably save your coupon. Although we like the movie for what it is, it only shines in comparison to similar titles.

I liked a couple of them but the last 2 or 3 really not so much.

I've read the original book 3 times so I love the idea but the movies went so far off the original track.

I find that strange. We've enjoyed all 7 of the JP movies so far - for our tastes, there isn't a horrible movie in the bunch. Sure, only one is excellent but IMO this series does not drop off nearly as much as most movie series we see. My wife and I rewatched this series recently and we both agreed, this was easily the second best of the JP franchise. We rank the series movies as 1, 7, 3, 2, 6, 4, 5. I can get others disagreeing but I don't understand anyone that thinks this one was worse than 4, 5 and 6.

Scarlett was a draw for me but for us the best part of this movie was the side story about the family just out for a sea cruise. The dad, the two daughters and the boyfriend were terrific.
The first one had the awesome and wonderful of introducing the Dinos for the first time.
Hard to top that with silly things like plot, acting, or story depth.

For me,...it's similar to the Mission Impossible movies.
It's just hard to tell them apart due to the similarities. But there is JP, then the rest...ajP:Chris Pratt, JP:Chris Pratt 2, JP:Scarjo...

I don't disagree. The first one was a great movie, none of the sequels come anywhere close. If it were up to me, I'd give JP a 9 rating on IMDB. I think Rebirth and JP 3 come next and I wouldn't rate either movie above a mid 6, that's a big dropoff from the first JP. But if you are a fan of this kind of movie and if you're okay with movies that are turned into cash cow sequels, this series is better than most IMO.

This one was decent enough. Lots of callbacks to previous movies.

The scene where dude goes to pee is hilarious
Yeah, no way would I have a drop of urine left with that going on right behind me. And yes, it had the most callbacks I've ever seen.

Still haven't watched it we watched House of Dynamite instead. I did watch the trailer and it does look more like the original so that's good

I hate to badmouth the movie but if you're hoping for "close to the original" you're going to be disappointed. I think it's probably the 2nd best of the series but it's a far cry from the originial. I don't think it ever has that edge of your seat tension like JP.

Just watched it tonight and yeah thanks for recommending it Steve that was much better than I expected. Even Lucy liked it.

Seems like they finally figured out where they went wrong on the recent ones.

Plus I love the Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix so him being in it was great

THere were some how the heck did that happen moments like the bad guy starting a car/jeep that had been dormant for 19 years and then them starting the boat same thing but overall for the most part it was plausible enough.

I did like all the homages, early on you see a school bus that says Crichton Academy, there's an homage to Jaws when going after the Mososaur and lots of homages to the J Park series itself.

Definitely much better than I expected glad I watched it.

Yeah there are a lot of scenes that are either ripoffs of, or nods to, earlier films, depending on how you look at it. For us though the little tributes were just fun, it reminded us of first watching the movie Paul and trying to identify each reference. For some reason, Paul seems to be respected for that constant referencing while Rebirth gets written off as derivative or repetitive by many fans.

I'll say again though, I really liked the side story. It might be my favorite aspect of the film and I'll be checking out all 4 of those actors in the future. I didn't know any of them but they all stood out in their own way. And Manuel Garcia-Rulfo gets my vote for dad of the year.

My wife and I really like Scarlett but we both struggled to find her credible in the role and the enviroment. Fortunately, that became less of an issue on repeat viewings but it wasn't the best role choice for her IMO.

If you haven't watched Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix I highly recommend it the father is the main character and he's REALLY good in that show.
