Could the 2026 MLB All-Star Game impact the race in the American League East?

The Tampa Bay Rays and their fans are holding their breath on July 14, as star Junior Caminero left the showcase game with a possible injury.

Caminero stepped to the plate in the third inning with the AL leading 3-0, when St. Louis Cardinals reliever Riley O'Brien hit the Rays star up high in the hand and wrist area. The slugger went to the ground in a heap of pain before leaving the game with trainers.

On the year, Caminero is batting .272 with 28 homers and 59 RBI.

The New York Yankees currently trail the Rays by three games in the AL East midway through the season.

The Yankees were also instrumental in the AL jumping out to an early lead in the Midsummer Classic, with Cody Bellinger and Ben Rice combining to drive in three runs off of Philadelphia Phillies ace Christopher Sanchez.
