A federal judge has ordered Stefon Diggs to give a more complete account of how he knows Christopher Blake Griffith, the man who accuses him of drugging and sexually assaulting him in 2023, ruling that simply labeling Griffith an "acquaintance" does not cut it.
The ruling, issued June 3 and reported Tuesday byTMZ Sports, addressed a series of discovery disputes in the civil case. When Griffith asked Diggs to describe their relationship before the night in question, Diggs offered little beyond that single word. The judge ordered him to provide a "truthful, complete, and non-evasive response" within 14 days of the order, with sanctions on the table if he fails to comply.
The court also directed Diggs to provide fuller answers about his interactions with Griffith in May 2023 and to identify the people who were present at his Rockville, Maryland, residence during that period. Diggs did pick up one win in the ruling: the judge determined he does not have to answer questions about any prior possession or distribution of controlled substances.
Griffith, a clothing designer who collaborated with Diggs on his fashion label Liem Homme, alleges Diggs drugged and sexually assaulted him on May 22, 2023, at the Rockville home. In court documents, Diggs has maintained he went to bed after returning from a charity basketball game in Washington, D.C.,and denied any assault took place. He filed a defamation lawsuit against Griffith last November, arguing Griffith fabricated the allegations for online attention.

Griffith's attorney Jake Lebowitz pushed back forcefully, stating: "Mr. Griffith is looking forward to showing the world in Court that regardless of the fairy tale fabricated by Mr. Diggs' high-priced New York Lawyers, he is the victim of Mr. Diggs' unwanted sexual advances and his brother's violent attacks."
That reference to Diggs' brother concerns a separate incident in which Darez Diggs and two other men pulled Griffith from an elevator near his Los Angeles residence, kicked him in the face, and took his phone. Griffith alleges the attack was meant to seize a device that contained evidence of the sexual battery. Darez Diggs later pleaded no contest to felony assault charges. Griffith sustained fractures to his left leg and ankle, a meniscus tear, a traumatic brain injury, and PTSD.
The discovery deadline falls in mid-June. Diggs, a free agent since the New England Patriots released him in March 2026, was acquitted in May on assault charges stemming from a separate, unrelated incident involving his former personal chef.
