New York Mets outfielder Juan Soto was greeted with roaring boos by New York Yankees fans on Friday. Spending one year in the Bronx, Soto helped lead the Yankees to an American League pennant last season before departing in free agency. It was a historic 15-year, $765 million deal that lured Soto away from the reigning AL champions.
While Yankees fans made their feelings toward Soto known throughout Friday's series opener, there were several pleasant interactions between he and his former teammates. However, fans were quick to notice that no pregame interaction between Soto and Aaron Judge surfaced on social media.

"The giant gap here between Soto and Judge is symbolic of their relationship," a fan wrote, adding a photo of the two outfielders on opposite ends of the field.
"Has Soto and judge met up yet?" a fan asked.
"Juan Soto doesn't miss Aaron Judge," a fan responded to a pregame interaction between Soto and Yankees manager Aaron Boone. "He misses baseball genius Aaron Boone. This is my narrative."
"No Judge Soto pics going around ," said another.
"Did we get a Judge Soto pregame hug?" asked another.
The Yankees jumped on Mets starter Tylor Megill, tagging him for four earned runs in just 2.2 innings pitched. Max Kranick did not perform much better in relief of Megill, surrendering two more earned runs in 2.1 innings of work. This allowed the Yankees to grab a 6-1 lead.
Walking his first three at-bats, Soto came around to score the Mets' first run of the game.
