ANAHEIM, Calif. — Rangers third baseman Josh Jung exited Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Angels at Angels Stadium with left shoulder soreness.
Jung dove to his left for a ground ball in the third inning but remained in for the rest of the frame. The Rangers shifted shortstop Ezequiel Duran to third base in his absence and inserted outfielder Michael Helman in at shortstop.
The 28-year-old has been the club's best hitter this season and has slashed .305/.357/.462 with five home runs in 48 games, anchoring a lineup that already lacks shortstop Corey Seager and left fielder Wyatt Langford. Jung has an extensive injury history that includes a fractured thumb and a fractured wrist since he became a big leaguer.
