Jorge Mendes confirms Portuguese duo will remain at PSG amid reports of Real Madrid interest

Neither Joao Neves (21) nor Vitinha (26) will be leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer, despite links to Real Madrid. That is according to their agent, Jorge Mendes, who spoke to Fabrizio Romano.

Neves and Vitinha have become key players for PSG. The former is utilised largely in the UEFA Champions League (14 matches, two goals, three assists) but is often rested in Ligue 1. Vitinha, meanwhile, is an ever-present in all competitions. As well as playing 17 times in the Champions League last season (six goals, one assist), he made 50 appearances overall in all competitions.

The pair had been linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes, although there are deemed untouchable by the hierarchy of the Ligue 1 club. And now, Mendes has said an exit was never on the cards. “Vitinha and Joao were never an option for anyone. They are non-negotiable for Paris Saint-Germain and they are very, very happy in PSG – they will continue collecting trophies,” he told Fabrizio Romano.

The Portugal internationals will now focus on the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
