It's rare that the best shot of an entire PGA Tour event will occur early in the opening round, but there's a pretty good chance that will be the case at the 2026 Memorial Tournament.
Putting for birdie on the par-4 sixth hole, Jordan Spieth drained a 62-footer after aiming in a completely different direction from the flagstick.
Spieth, a three-time major champion, had to start the ball rolling at least 25 feet to the right of the cup. But once it navigated its way to the crest of a downslope, all that remained was for gravity to take its course.
The birdie was Spieth's first of the day as he made the turn in 1-under 35.
He added another birdie on the par-5 11th hole to make his way up the early leaderboard.
