Jordan Chiles is finding redemption on the uneven bars!

The UCLA gymnast, 24, won the title in the event at the NCAA Gymnastics Championships in Fort Worth, Texas on Thursday, April 17, marking the second time she's taken the top spot in discipline since 2023.

“I might cry again,” Chiles told reporters after the meet. “I believed in this team from the very beginning. There’s so much pride, so much joy, so much fun in the atmosphere. I knew this was our year.”

UCLA’s team, which also includes Olympian Emma Malabuyo, edged out defending champion LSU for the fourth spot and will head to the event’s finals on Saturday afternoon at Dickies Arena.

"Tonight's competition was absolutely everything you can hope for in a national championship," UCLA coach Janelle McDonald said. "It was so neck and neck and just such a fight for every single event and every single routine. It was an incredible meet to be a part of."
