Jon Rahm took a hack at the rough after catching a flier and hitting a poor shot. He didn't expect to take a chunk of rough with the swipe, thinking his club would glide above the grass, but he did.

Then it flew and hit a volunteer in the face.

Rahm was quick to apologize Thursday after the first round of the 2026 PGA Championship when a frustrating moment resulted in him hitting a volunteer with a divot. The incident happened after Rahm's second shot on the seventh hole, his 16th of the day.
