It was a certainty that the late Johnny Gaudreau would have been on the roster for the United States Olympic men's hockey team for the 2026 Games in Milan Cortina, but the great star died tragically in 2024.

But he and his brother Matthew who also died in 2024 weren't forgotten by the gold-medal winning team. His would-be teammates put up a No. 13 Gaudreau jersey in their locker room for each game, and when USA players skated around with American flags on their backs, they carried his jersey around.

What's more: Gaudreau's family was in the stands, tearfully celebrating:
