Offensive linemen usually remember criticism longer than most players, and John Simpson made it sound like Baltimore's front is carrying plenty of motivation into this season.

During Ravens OTA media availability, Simpson discussed the mentality inside the offensive line room and whether returning players feel added pressure to prove they're better than last season. His answer was honest and pretty straightforward: every offensive line should feel that pressure unless they just won the Super Bowl.

That mindset probably reflects the standard Baltimore wants up front this year. The Ravens know expectations are high, especially with Derrick Henry in the backfield and Lamar Jackson leading the offense. While speaking with reporters during OTAs, Simpson explained:

“Most definitely. But I feel like that [applies] with any offensive line group. If a team didn't win the Super Bowl last year, then they have a chip on their shoulder. So I feel like every year, you have to come in with that chip on your shoulder just to try to prove that you belong in this league.”

That mentality could become important for a Ravens offensive line trying to reestablish itself as one of the NFL’s most physical units this season.
