Game 4 of the Golden State Warriors' first-round series against the Houston Rockets was everything a basketball fan wants out of the modern-day sports -- aside from lengthy and excessive reviews.
In Chase Center, the Warriors captured a 109-106 victory in a hard-fought, physical battle against the No. 2-seeded Rockets.
The two sides went back and forth. There was very little flow. The entire 48 minutes perfectly encapsulated playoff NBA basketball.
Golden State came away from the game in the win column, giving them a 3-1 series lead despite being the No. 7 seed.
Evidently, one could argue the Warriors aren't a traditional underdog, given they've been brilliant since the trade deadline and had a better regular season net rating than the Rockets.
The win didn't come behind Stephen Curry's brilliance like it did in Game 3. Instead, he only scored 17 points on 13 shot attempts.
Brandin Podziemski and Buddy Hield were essential in keeping the Warriors in position to secure a victory, and a second-half surge from Jimmy Butler sealed the deal.

What led to Butler's surge despite being injured? The answer is simple: Dillon Brooks.
Butler said after the game that someone saying something to him was enough to help him push through the injury in the second half and put together a superb performance.
After the game, Butler had a simple five-word message about Brooks.
"I don’t like Dillon Brooks," Butler said, on record.
He added they weren't, and are never, "having fun."
Butler got the fuel he needed to finish with 27 points on 7-of-12 shooting in 40 minutes logged, just one game removed from missing a contest with injury.
He added five rebounds and six assists as he was pivotal in helping Golden State take a commanding 3-1 series lead.
The two sides now head back to Houston as Brooks and the Rockets have their backs against the wall, with Butler and the Warriors looking to close the series out.
