Jets receive terrible prediction that's incredibly unlikely to come true originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The New York Jets, coming into the 2026 NFL season, are looking to snap a losing streak and also end an unfathomable interception drought that lasted the entire 2025 season.
In Aaron Glenn's second year as head coach of the Jets, it's hard to imagine that things will get even worse than they were in 2025, especially after all of the offseason additions they made.
However, Bleacher Report's Gary Davenport is predicting that such a terrible season will happen to the Jets, and not only will they finish with the best pick in the 2027 NFL Draft, but they will also finish the 2026 season without a single win.
Jets predicted to go 0-17 amid terrible 2026 season
"New York Jets will be the first 0-17 team in NFL history," Davenport predicts. "... This year, the Jets won't only be the last team to win a game. They won't- becoming the NFL's first 0-17 team in the process."
This prediction from Davenport would be a complete nightmare for Glenn, and it would likely result in the former Jets player being fired after just two seasons, if he's not fired in the middle of such a disastrous season.
While the Jets finishing with the league's worst record wouldn't be the worst thing, as they'd get the top pick in the stacked 2027 NFL Draft class. Doing so by going 0-17 would be absolutely brutal.
Their 2026 schedule isn't that hard. The Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins (twice), Las Vegas Raiders, and Arizona Cardinals are all very beatable opponents.
And who's to say they can't sneak a win over the New England Patriots or Buffalo Bills, as divisional matchups sometimes can go haywire.

With Geno Smith and the revamped offense with Omar Cooper Jr. and Kenyon Sadiq, along with Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson, and a strong offensive line, that side of the ball is good enough to win a game or two.
Defensively, David Bailey and T'Vondre Sweat headlined a massive overhaul that also brought in Demario Davis, Nahshon Wright, Joseph Ossai, Kinsgley Enagbare, David Onyemata, Darrell Jackson Jr., D'Angelo Ponds, and Minkah Fitzpatrick.
Davenport's prediction is meant to be a surprising one, and this would certainly be a shocking outcome for the Jets if they actually didn't win a single game all season.
As bad as they were last year, and even with how bad the franchise has been, it would be one of the biggest surprises in recent NFL history for this team to fail to win even one single game, especially with all of the weak opponents on their schedule.
