It’s tough to view Patrick as anything more than a backup. He is 32 years old and only caught 15 passes in 2025 with Jacksonville.
Patrick did have back to back 700 yard seasons in 2020 and 2021, but followed that up by missing two full years with a torn ACL and a torn Achilles. These two devastating injuries preceded a steep fall in his production.
The Jets have Garrett Wilson, Omar Cooper, and Adonai Mitchell as their projected starters at wide receiver. The team will also likely use a fair share of two tight end sets with Kenyon Sadiq and Mason Taylor. There likely won’t be much playing time for Patrick. Nor should there be.
