Azareye'h Thomas was selected by the New York Jets in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft and the Florida State cornerback has the talent worthy of being picked.

However, cornerback was not on the mind of many in New York in Round 3 when the Thomas pick was made. On top of that, Thomas comes with the speed concerns attached

That was never an issue for head coach Aaron Glenn.

While explaining the Jets' interest in Thomas, Glenn kept the speed concern simple. He believes Thomas has the game-play quickness for the NFL and that's what mattered to the coach.

“There is a lot of people that they say they run 4.5 or 4.6 then when you see them run against 4.3 receivers and they’re in their hip pocket, that tells you right there that they can run," Glenn said.

Thomas recorded 52 tackles, including two for loss, with four passes defended and a sack at FSU in 2024. Along with that production, Thomas said he'll be bringing toughness with him to New York.

"I'm physical. I'm gonna smother you. I'm gonna lock down my side of the field, & I'm a great teammate," Thomas said via video conference.
