Jesse Minter cancels head coach interview, narrowing options

So far the Raiders have only has second in-person with a handful of candidates. One of those candidates is Charger DC Jesse Minter. Perhaps no candidate this cycle is hotter than Minter, which means he has many options. One of those options will not be the Browns because today he canceled a scheduled interview with Cleveland.

The cancellation comes on the heels of Minter's interviews with the Raiders and Ravens, suggesting he could be deciding between the two teams.

Jesse Minter interviewed with the #Ravens yesterday at their facility, and I’m told it went very well. He’s in strong consideration for the job.

The #Raiders have also shown heavy interest, among other teams.

Minter becomes the third candidate this cycle to say 'thanks, but no thanks' to the Browns job. Mike McDaniel and Brian Flores both opted to take coordinator jobs instead. Nobody wants to join that mess over there. The QB situation alone is terrifying.

The opposite in the case with the Ravens and perhaps the Raiders as well. The Ravens have arguably the best QB situation among teams looking for a new head coach. The only other team who could boast a QB as good as Lamar Jackson is Buffalo with Josh Allen.

But the Raiders allure is the number one overall pick and Fernando Mendoza. Which could be attractive for any head coach candidate, not to mention the OC the next head coach could bring onboard as well.
