Jaylen Brown has already reached milestones many NBA players spend a career chasing. He is an NBA champion, a Finals MVP and one of the league's top wings. Even with those accomplishments, Brown says joining LeBron James in Philadelphia gives him another chance to grow.

Jaylen Brown wants to learn from LeBron James on and off the court​

Brown recently spoke about becoming teammates with James after the four-time NBA champion signed with the Philadelphia 76ers in free agency. Instead of focusing on the expectations surrounding the team's star-studded roster, Brown pointed to something more personal.

"We got Bron and like what an opportunity that is," Brown said.

Brown explained that learning remains one of the biggest motivations in his career, regardless of his success.

"My favorite thing to do is to learn," Brown said. "To have the opportunity to learn from one of the if not the greatest player of all time."

The 29-year-old said that the opportunity extends beyond basketball. He believes spending time with James will allow him to learn both on and off the court and add to the experience he has built throughout his own career.

Brown joins a team that expects to compete for an NBA championship. Philadelphia already had Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey before adding both Brown and James during the offseason, creating one of the league's most accomplished cores.

Brown also brings an impressive resume to the partnership. He won Finals MVP during Boston's 2024 championship run after averaging 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists in the NBA Finals.

James enters his 24th NBA season after winning four championships across three franchises. His longevity and preparation have become defining parts of his career as much as his on-court production.

Brown's comments show that he sees value beyond playing next to another superstar. He believes sharing a locker room with James offers a chance to gain knowledge from one of the NBA's longest and most successful careers while pursuing another championship together.
