Jaylen Brown was named second-team All-NBA for the second time in his career on Sunday. The Celtics star posted new career-highs across the board during the 2025-26 season, averaging 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game while leading Boston to a 56-win season with Jayson Tatum sidelined for the majority of the year.
Brown just missed out on his first ever First-Team All-NBA spot, finishing sixth overall in the voting. He got 44 First Team votes, 54 Second Team votes and two Third Team votes, finishing with 384 points overall. That was 30 points behind Cade Cunningham, who got the final spot on the First Team. Players received five points for each First Team vote, three points for each Second Team vote and one point for each Third Team vote.
Brown delivered a candid reaction to falling short for the First-Team honor while speaking on his Twitch stream on Sunday night.
“I’m not the most-liked, [by] fans or media,” Brown said. “Sometimes I use my platform a little controversial, so I’m surprised I’m on any team, let alone first or second. I’m grateful for everything. I’m not surprised about nothing.”
Cunningham and Luka Doncic both topped Brown for First Team All-NBA. They were eligible for postseason awards despite playing under the 64-game threshold after appealing for “extraordinary circumstances” clause, which was granted by the NBA. Cunningham played in 64 games after suffering a collapsed lung late in the year. Doncic also played 64 games but missed two of those games due to attending the birth of his child overseas during the season.
Victor Wembanyama, Nikola Jokic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander made up the final spots on the first-team.
Joining Brown on the second-team were Jalen Brunson, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard and Donovan Mitchell. Derrick White got three votes for the third-team on the voting panel made up of 100 media members.
Brown also made the All-NBA Second Team during the 2022-23 season.
