Jaylen Brown will play alongside Joel Embiid with the Philadelphia 76ers next season. The former Boston Celtics star was traded on Wednesday in exchange for Paul George, two first-round picks and two second-round selections.
However, his previous comments about the former NBA MVP’s flopping resurfaced on X. Brown praised Embiid, calling him one of the best big men ever, but expressed displeasure with his playing style

“Flopping has ruined our game,” Brown said. “Joel Embiid is a great player. One of the best bigs in f****** basketball history flops. He know it. This ain’t breaking news. You see, you know what I mean? It is what it is.”
Brown and Embiid faced each other in the first round of playoffs last season. The Celtics entered the series as the No. 2 seed and led 3-1 through four games. They failed to secure another win and were eliminated by the 76ers.

Brown is a one-time NBA champion and Finals MVP. He’ll bring his championship experience to a Philadelphia team searching for a breakthrough campaign. The five-time All-Star also provides the team with versatility as he can play at the shooting guard and small forward spots.
The 76ers front office will look for him to mentor Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe and incoming rookie Labaron Philon Jr. Brown could be the team’s missing piece as it sets its sights on winning in all in 2027.
