Jasmine Jasudavicius and Karine Silva meet on the UFC Fight Night 273 main card Saturday at Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom.
An important fight for Jasudavicius (14-4 MMA, 8-3 UFC), who will look to rebound from a lopsided loss to Manon Fiorot in a "prove it" spot. The loss snapped a five-fight winning streak. Silva (19-6 MMA, 5-2 UFC) also is in need of a win after dropping two of her past three bouts, including most recently to Maycee Barber.
Filling out the main card on Paramount+ is a women's flyweight fight between Jasmine Jasudavicius and Karine Silva.
With both Jasudavicius and Silva coming off losses and being ranked in the Top 10, this is undeniably an important spot for each fighter and the division as a whole.
I'm not sure Silva could fight conservative if she wanted to, but I do expect a more measured approach from Jasudavicius this time out. Aside from recently sustaining her first stoppage loss, Jasudavicius will be facing a fighter who will likely be welcoming her strong suits from a stylistic perspective.
And though Silva and her opportunistic submissions are always live, the Brazilian's propensity to sacrifice position for offensive attempts appears to be her Achilles heel.
