Jared Ivey is an undrafted free agent to watch for the Seahawks

Is it possible one of the biggest steals for the Seattle Seahawks in the 2025 NFL draft is a player... they did not draft? After the draft concludes there are slew of young men who do not get selected and are later signed as undrafted free agents. Many of these players can, and do, go on to have incredibly successful careers in the league. Could the Seahawks have such a player this year?

One of Seattle's UDFA signings was Ole Miss's defensive end Jared Ivey. Originally slated to be at least a fifth round pick, Ivey fell out of the draft entirely. However, perhaps that was a blessing in disguise. Now Ivey is with a team led by one of the more brilliant defensive minds in the NFL. Hard to ask for a better landing spot as a defensive end!

The potential Jared Ivey has for the Seahawks in 2025 is quite high. As a result, Pro Football Focus has listed Ivey as Seattle's top UDFA to watch this year. Here is what PFF had to say:

Ivey was the biggest draft faller on PFF’s big board, going undrafted despite ranking as the No. 66 prospect. There is no questioning his production: 40 quarterback pressures (eight sacks), 21 stops and an elite 90.6 PFF overall grade. The Ole Miss product produced 16 sacks over the past two seasons, tying for the 10th most among Power Five edge defenders. He could be a legitimate weapon in Seattle’s edge rotation.

We at Seahawks Wire often write about how one of the best ways for Seattle to take the leap from good-to-great would be to improve one position group to "elite" status. We believe the group best situated to make such a leap is the Seahawks' defensive line. If Ivey is another piece of the puzzle to help make this a reality, then Seattle is going to be a force opposing offenses are not going to want to deal with.
