There seems to be a certain inevitability with Jannik Sinner matches these days.

He's going to slowly but surely grind his opponent down and all of a sudden, the match is over.

That was the case with Saturday's semifinal at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells as Sinner methodically moved past world No. 4 Alexander Zverev 6-2, 6-4 in just an hour and 23 minutes.

The win moves Sinner into his first-ever championship match at Indian Wells. He will play the winner of Saturday's other semifinal between Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev.

Saturday's win marked the sixth time in a row that Sinner has beaten Zverev including in the 2025 Australian Open final after losing four of the first times they played.
