Utah State Valley golfer and Roosevelt alum Chloe Jang beat Punahou state champion Alexa Takai in a playoff to capture the 75th annual Jennie K Wilson Tournament Sunday at Mid-Pacific Country Club.
Takai, a sophomore who also helped the Buffanblu win a state title, was seeking to become the first three-time Jennie K. champion. She led by a shot going into the 18th hole, but bogeyed the hole while Jang parred it. The players returned to the 18th for the playoff, with the same scoring result as Jang claimed the title.
The three-day event featured 95 players. Mariko Yonemura finished third and Mia Nakaoka fourth.
