New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson went down in the middle of the first quarter of Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. It happened after Spurs forward Harrison Barnes fell to the floor and hit his knee. The Knicks had to take him to the locker room for a while. Fortunately for New York, Brunson returned to action, and the injury scare did not prevent him from missing the rest of the game.

Dealing with such an injury is the last thing that the Knicks want to happen in their postseason run. Brunson is their best player, and his potential absence could alter the series’ momentum.

Jalen Brunson led the Knicks to the Finals for the first time since 1999. It was a great achievement for the storied franchise that hasn’t won a title since 1973. However, Brunson isn’t satisfied with just leading New York to the Finals, and he wants to remain focused on the goal.

“My mindset is still the same. I’m obviously very excited,” he said, “but still a lot more work to be done.”

Brunson has been great for the Knicks in these playoffs, averaging 26.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 6.6 assists in the first three rounds. The three-time All-Star is one of the main reasons why New York has been on an 11-game win streak.
