Jake Paul explains vision behind MVP-PFL merger

\n
\nFor Paul, the merger is the culmination of a vision that began with\ncreating more opportunities for fighters than the traditional\npromotional model has offered.
\n
\n“We started MVP to disrupt a broken model,” Paul said. “We wanted\nto give fighters fair pay and a bigger, modernized stage to become\nglobal superstars. Joining forces with PFL accelerates that vision\nby a decade. We now have a scaled platform to give today's fans\nwhat they want: elite talent mixed with culture, lifestyle, and\nmassive social velocity.”
\n
\nThe 29-year-old emphasized that the promotion's ambitions extend\nbeyond individual fighters.
\n
\n“MVP was always bigger than me and bigger than any one fighter,” he\nsaid. “MVP is an inevitable movement that needs to happen for the\nathletes, and now we have all the resources we need to build\nsomething that changes this sport forever.”
\n
\nThe combined promotion has pledged to operate under a fighter-first\nphilosophy, saying it intends to provide more equitable\ncompensation for fighters. Paul argued that advances in artificial\nintelligence will increase demand for live sporting events and make\npremium combat sports properties even more valuable.
\n
\n“I have more conviction in MVP than ever, driven by the\nproliferation of AI, which will only increase the value of real,\nlive experiences and the sports properties that can bring fans\ncloser to the athletes they love,” Paul said.
\n
\nPaul added that he intends to continue competing while also serving\nas a promoter as the newly merged company prepares to stage five\nevents in August.
