Parker Washington had a breakout season in 2025 for the Jacksonville Jaguars, tallying career highs in receiving yards, kick return yards and touchdowns.
A contract extension is all but inevitable as Washington enters the final year of his rookie contract.
Washinton will be paired with Jakobi Meyers and Brian Thomas Jr. to form a receiving trio that will give opposing defenses headaches all season.
They also will give quarterback Trevor Lawrence plenty of options as he looks to lead the team back into the playoffs.
As Washington heads into his fourth NFL season, here are five things to know about the 24-year-old:
Washington's sister Ashton was hired as the first female scout for the Chicago Bears in 2021. His cousin, Joshua Dobbs, played college football at Tennessee and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Included among the nine NFL teams Dobbs spent time with was the Jaguars in 2019. Another cousin, Tyler Tolbert, is a professional baseball player in the Kansas City Royals organization.
As a freshman, Washington started all nine games for Penn State during the pandemic-shortened season of 2020. While he had his lowest college tally of 489 receiving yards, he had his most TDs in a season at six.
During his sophomore year, he had 64 receptions for 820 yards and four touchdowns.
His third and final year at Penn State saw him collect 46 receptions for 611 yards and two touchdowns.
Washington was selected by the Jaguars with the in the 185th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Earlier in the draft, the Jaguars chose tight end Brenton Strange, Washington’s Penn State teammate, with the 61st pick in the second round.
Also in the sixth round, the Jaguars chose Erick Hallett II, who played at Pitt. OK, so it’s not Penn State, but it’s the same state.
Washington saw limited action during his rookie season after missing several weeks with a knee injury. He saw action in nine games, starting one, with 132 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He also returned a combined 14 kicks and punts.
During his second season, he had 390 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He also showed his wheels as a kick returner, taking a punt back 96 yards for his first kick return touchdown.
In 2025, he returned 25 punts and three kickoffs, taking two punts back for touchdowns, including one for 87 yards. He also had 847 receiving yards and five touchdowns. His 847 receiving yards led the team, with Thomas second at 707 yards.
