Jacksonville Jaguars general manager James Gladstone had a true connection to Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead when they worked together.
Gladstone made sure to thank the Sneads for how much they helped his development in the Rams front office from senior assistant in 2016 to director of scouting strategy in 2022, a role he maintained until this year.
But that relationship extended past their work. The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue wrote that Gladstone's and Snead's family got very close during their time together over the past eight years. Gladstone thought so highly of Snead that he and his wife gave his old boss' given name, Samuel, to his daughter as a middle name.
That is a tremendous honor for anyone, least of which being a coworker. Snead has effused praise for Gladstone as well since Gladstone took the Jaguars job. Snead told Rodrigue that it's "blatantly obvious" Gladstone is ready for the job and that he "just oozes ready."
The Rams will see Gladstone again in 2025. L.A. will head to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars at some point in this upcoming season, where it wouldn't be a surprise to see a reunion embrace between Gladstone and Snead. Former Rams coordinator Liam Coen is also the Jaguars' new head coach.

“We wanted to raise her in his likeness,” Gladstone said, per Rodrigue.
