Zach Pereles of CBS Sports redrafted the first round of the 2024 NFL draft, and the Jacksonville Jaguars were forced to go in a different direction.

In the actual 2024 draft, the Jaguars selected Brian Thomas Jr. at 23rd overall, but in the redraft, Thomas Jr. was long gone, taken at pick No. 14 by the Saints.

So instead, the Jaguars still addressed the wide receiver position but ended up with Ricky Pearsall, who was originally taken by San Francisco at 31st overall.

"Pearsall has had truly rotten injury luck, including getting shot in the chest shortly before his rookie season," wrote Pereles. "In this hypothetical scenario, he's in Jacksonville, and that episode -- and maybe the other injuries since -- never happen. When he's been on the field, Pearsall has flashed plenty of "wow" moments and produced some big games."

Lining up both out wide and in the slot, Pearsall has been a reliable target, catching 69.1% of his career targets. He also generated more chunk plays in Year 2, averaging just shy of 15 yards per catch.

Out of 97 eligible wide receivers, Pearsall ranked 26th in yards per route run, an efficiency metric, highlighting his reliability in the pass game and ability to create.

The current iteration of the Jaguars' receiver room will be one of the strengths of this year's team, with Thomas Jr., Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers, and Travis Hunter all factoring into that equation.

This quality depth will allow Liam Coen to rotate often and play matchups.
