It's officially the end of an era, one with lots of ups and downs. The Wolverines brought in head coach Juwan Howard to oversee the Michigan basketball team in the summer of 2019 and with the former Fab Five standout, both of his sons -- Jace Howard and Jett Howard -- came to Ann Arbor to follow in their father's footsteps.

Jett was a one and done, having played for a season before leaving for the NBA. However, Jace has consistently been a part of the team. Even when the maize and blue went in another direction, dismissing his father from the program, Jace remained. However, now, he's looking for a new opportunity, as it was announced on Monday that the Michigan legacy has entered the transfer portal.

Michigan senior Jace Howard has entered the transfer portal, per a @247Sports source.

Howard only appeared in five games in 2024-25 and appears to be seeking a medical redshirt to get yet another year of eligibility. He played in the most games in 2022-23 when he appeared 30 times but in that frame, he only averaged 7.8 minutes. The following year, he only played in 10 games but averaged 12.7 minutes per game.
