It isn’t often Cincinnati Bengals fans see superstar players hit the media circuit and suggest blockbuster trades for the franchise.
Bengals stars Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins did just that during Super Bowl week, though, openly chatting about the possibility of the franchise making a big swing for Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby.
Slightly joking or not, Chase and Higgins had a back-and-forth with Kay Adams about Pro Bowlers they would like to see added to the roster.
Chase brought it up first: “I wanna go with your boy from Vegas, though. Maxx Crosby.”
Higgins? Not far behind: “Hey Maxx, man, come on to the Bengals, man.”

All fun hypotheticals…unless it isn’t.
Crosby is “done” with the Raiders, per new reports about drama in Las Vegas. And the Bengals might be just as done with Trey Hendrickson, according to reporting around that relationship.
The Bengals striking a trade for Crosby would be unprecedented in franchise history and super costly. He’s one of the NFL’s best pass-rushers and only 28 years old, compared to Hendrickson’s 31. His current contract has a $36 million cap hit in 2026 and $30 million cap hit in 2027 before an out.
By almost any standard, Crosby is unaffordable for other NFL teams, given the draft picks and assets they would need to surrender to make a deal happen.
But the fact Bengals players are openly talking about it and similar moves out in the open speaks to how big the defensive problem is in Cincinnati. It’s doubtful the front office takes a big swing, but the problem is obvious to everyone.
