It’s early still, but do you have a trade target for the Phillies?

We are entering Memorial Day week, which means teams are starting to get their affairs in order. They likely know what they want to do on the season, more or less, when it comes to buying or selling at this year’s trade deadline. The sellers are mostly obvious by now (unless the team owner is Arte Moreno), so it’s time to start thinking about pieces to add to the Phillies’ roster.

Even though it is still early, is there any particular player the Phillies should be targeting at the trade deadline?

Recent hot streaks by Alec Bohm and other have lessened some of the stress being put on the lineup by lack of production, but it still does feel like another bat would be useful to have. We have seen that no team can actually have too much pitching in either their rotation or in the bullpen, so adding an arm isn’t off the table. Get really granular and one could argue that a decent backup catcher to spell J.T. Realmuto would be something to pursue.

Even if it feels early, it’s never too early to think about the deadline.
