An Albuquerque Isotopes who is one of the hottest hitters in Minor League Baseball and a former New Mexico prep star who is on a tear since coming back from Tommy John surgery will each be participating in Major League Baseball's All-Star Weekend festivities in two weeks in Philadelphia.

Charlie Condon, a Colorado Rockies prospect and Isotopes first baseman/outfielder, and pitcher Nolan Perry, a Toronto Blue Jays prospect and 2022 Carlsbad High School graduate, were each selected Wednesday to play in the July 12 MLB All-Star Futures game — Condon to the 25-man National League roster, Perry to the 25-man American League roster.

The game will be broadcast on NBC starting at 10 a.m.

Condon, the No. 3 overall draft pick of the Rockies in 2024 and reigning Pacific Coast League Player of the Week, will be participating in his second consecutive All-Star Futures game after being in the 2025 game in his hometown of Atlanta.

He’s the first Isotope to be selected to the game in five years and the ninth active Isotope to be chosen to play in the game, joining catcher Josh Willingham (2005), pitcher Jose Garcia (2006), pitcher Rick Van Den Hurk (2007), outfielder David Dahl (2016), pitcher Jeff Hoffman (2016), infielder Ryan McMahon (2017), pitcher Ben Bowden (2019) and outfielder Ryan Vilade (2021).

Entering Wednesday, Condon was hitting .286 with 18 home runs (10 in June alone), 56 RBIs and had drawn 49 walks. The Rockies have asked him to focus on getting up to speed playing corner outfield positions in addition to his usual place at first base.

Perry is a right-handed pitcher playing this season for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, the Double-A affiliate of the Blue Jays.

The former New Mexico prep star was set to go to Texas Tech after graduating from Carlsbad, but instead opted to play immediately for the Blue Jays, who drafted him in the 12th round but paid him a much higher-round signing bonus.

Perry is rated as the Blue Jays No. 15 prospect according to MLBPipeline.com.

He suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow in 2024 and the ensuing Tommy John surgery cost him all of 2025. But according to MLB Pipeline, “He has very much returned to form in his age-22 campaign this year, first back with Single-A Dunedin before being promoted to High-A Vancouver in May.”

The scouting site states his fastball is averaging 94.1 (and “touching 96.4”) with plenty of spin while also throwing a solid slider and curveball.

Through 36 games this season in Single-A, High-A and now Double-A, Perry has a 2.47 ERA in 54.2 innings pitched with 85 strikeouts and just 19 walks. Opposing batters are hitting just .196.

Making up the 50 players selected to play in the Futures Game are eight from Triple-A, 20 Double-A, 18 High-A and three Single-A.
