New England Patriots linebacker Harold Landry will be out for Sunday’s AFC Championship Game against the Denver Broncos. Patriots coach Mike Vrabel confirmed the news on Friday.

Landry has been struggling with a knee injury in recent weeks. He played through the injury in the wild-card round against the Los Angeles Chargers, but he attempted to play through it with limited snaps in the divisional round against the Houston Texans.

He was unable to practice throughout the week, and it put his availability for the AFC title game in doubt. The veteran defender has been a major contributor for the Patriots this season, recording 49 total tackles, 8.5 sacks and a forced fumble.

This is clearly a blow to the Patriots' pass rush heading into the game. Anfernee Jennings is expected to get an increased workload against the Broncos. He stepped up and had a solid impact on defense for the Patriots in their win over the Texans last week.

We'll see if he can have a similar showing on the road in Denver.
