NEW YORK — Juan Soto is out of the Mets' starting lineup for the opening game of their doubleheader on Wednesday, a little more than 12 hours after leaving a game with left side back tightness.

Francisco Lindor will not be in the first lineup either.

Instead, the Mets will roll without two of their superstars for Wednesday's opening matchup with the Cubs at 1:10 p.m. at Citi Field.

The Mets are looking to snap a three-game losing streak after dropping the series opener, 9-6, on Monday night after Kodai Senga surrendered seven earned runs in 3⅔ innings.

The Mets enter the day at 34-44 and seven games back of the Cubs for the NL's final wild card spot.
