The Minnesota Timberwolves are a win away from bouncing the Denver Nuggets in Round 1.
Minnesota has a prime closeout opportunity tonight at home in Game 6. But to advance past Nikola Jokic and Co., the Timberwolves will be without Edwards.
Edwards, the two-time All-NBA guard and heartbeat to the Wolves, has been ruled out with a left knee bone bruise. The 24-year-old exited Game 4 with the injury after a leaping block attempt ended in an awkward fall. Edwards immediately went down clutching his knee and required assistance getting back to the bench.
While Edwards avoided ligament damage, he's expected to be out "multiple weeks" after suffering a bone bruise and hyperextension, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.
Donte DiVincenzo will also miss Game 6 -- and much longer -- for the Timberwolves after tearing his Achilles in Game 4. Ayo Dosunmu is listed as questionable with right calf soreness.
With Edwards and DiVincenzo sidelined, the Wolves need Dosunmu more than ever. We'll see whether he can give Minnesota a boost with Game 6 set to tip at 9:30 p.m. ET tonight.
