According to Accuweather forecasts, the weather in Delhi is expected to remain clear in the morning, but conditions could deteriorate as the day progresses. Cloud cover is likely to increase by the afternoon, with rain and thunderstorms predicted around 1 PM to 3 PM. AccuWeather suggests there is a 51% chance of significant showers during this window, raising concerns about potential delays or impact on pitch conditions.
Despite the afternoon rain threat, there is optimism for an uninterrupted match. The sun is expected to make a brief appearance between 4 PM and 6 PM, aiding in drying conditions, although a 15–19% chance of light showers still remains during this period. Crucially, there is no rain forecast from 7 PM onwards, when the toss is scheduled. As the evening progresses, skies are expected to clear, with only strong winds prevailing at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Conditions Likely to Be Warm and Humid
Delhi is set to experience a warm evening, with temperatures ranging between 28°C and 35°C. Humidity could make conditions challenging for players, especially early in the game. While the match is expected to go ahead as planned, the afternoon showers could still influence proceedings, particularly in terms of outfield conditions and pitch behavior. Ground staff will play a crucial role in ensuring the venue is match-ready after any rain interruptions.
