After a limited number of tickets went on sale Monday morning at 9 a.m., the University of Iowa announced on Tuesday that tickets for the NCAA Tournament's first and second rounds in Iowa City were officially sold out.
As a result of its terrific season, Iowa (26-6, 15-3 Big Ten) earned the right to host the NCAA Tournament's first two rounds from inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena and in front of its loyal and passionate fans.
As the No. 2 seed in Region 4 in Sacramento, Iowa will play against No. 15 seed Fairleigh Dickinson (30-4, 18-0 Northeast Conference) on Saturday, March 21 at 3 p.m. CT. That matchup will be broadcast on ESPN.
If the Hawkeyes defeat the Knights, they will take on the winner of No. 7 seed Georgia (22-9, 8-8 SEC) and No. 10 Virginia (19-11, 11-7 ACC) / Arizona State (24-10, 9-9 Big 12) in the second round. Virginia and Arizona State will meet on Thursday at 8 p.m. CT from Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
