Iowa vs. Fairleigh Dickinson predictions

Fairleigh Dickinson, the Northeast Conference Tournament champion, enters the NCAA Tournament riding a 22-game winning streak, with its last loss coming Dec. 29, 2025, against Binghamton.

Heading into the tournament, FDU joins the No. 1 and No. 2 overall seeds, UConn and UCLA, as the only teams to go undefeated in conference play. A big part of that is that coach Stephanie Gaitley's squad has three players Ava Renninger, Kailee McDonald and Madlena Gerke —eachrecording double digits per game. Renninger leads the squad, averaging 12.7 points and 5.2 assists across 34 games.

Fairleigh Dickinson has been one of the nation's elite defensive teams in Gaitley's third season, ranking second nationally in opponents' scoring at just over 51 points per game, trailing only UConn.

Gaitley will have her team well prepared for the raucous environment at Carver‑Hawkeye Arena — her coaching debut at Fairleigh Dickinson came in a 102–46 loss to Iowa in 2023. Several current Knights were on that 2023 team. FDU will come out competitive early, but Iowa wins its first game back at Carver in nearly a month. Iowa 86, Fairleigh Dickinson62
