Aili Tanke had a promising start to her college basketball career at Iowa State. The former Johnson High School star was an immediate contributor during her freshman season, playing in 32 games and starting six.

Tanke's playing time dipped during her sophomore season, and her role completely diminished. She has decided to enter the transfer portal, according to a source with direct knowledge of the situation.

The 5-foot-11 guard will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Tanke played in 44 games during her two seasons at Iowa State, averaging 1.9 points and 1.4 rebounds per game.

During her freshman season, Tanke averaged 12.8 minutes, 2.3 points and 1.4 rebounds per game. Tanke played just 12 games as a sophomore, all off the bench.

Tanke was the top-ranked recruit in Iowa while at Johnston, according to espnW/HoopGurlz. She was named 2023-24 Iowa MaxPreps High School Girls Player of the Year.
