As Iowa basketball continues to build towards the future, the Hawkeyes presented a scholarship offer to one of the nation's premier 2028 centers in Logan Chwastyk this week.
Measuring at 6-foot-10, 215 pounds from Malvern, Penn., Chwastyk is rated as a five-star in the 247Sports composite rankings. Per 247Sports, Chwastyk is the No. 13 player nationally, the No. 7 center and the No. 2 player from Pennsylvania in the 2027 class.
According to Rivals, Chwastyk is the 18th-ranked player nationally, the No. 6 center and the No. 2 prospect out of Pennsylvania.
As a high school sophomore, he averaged 16.4 points, 9.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.8 blocks while shooting 54% from the field, per MaxPreps.
For travel basketball, Chwastyk plays for Team Final on the Nike EYBL Circuit. This spring, he averaged 12 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks, while shooting 55.9% from the field.
Along with Iowa, Chwastyk holds offers from Florida State, Stanford, Indiana, Notre Dame, Penn State, Villanova, and Syracuse. Chwastyk has heard from a number of other schools as well.
With the center position a coveted spot in Ben McCollum's offense, a possible commitment from Chwastyk would immediately give the Hawkeyes a star to build around, especially when competing against the Big Ten's skill and physicality.
