Things have not gone exactly the way the Iowa Hawkeyes would have hoped down the stretch, but the entire body of work this season and the resume they have built is still holding strong, keeping Iowa in the field of 68 for the NCAA Tournament.
With a 20-11 mark overall and a 10-10 mark in Big Ten play, Iowa has been on the cusp of three or four more wins that would send them up the seed lines, rather than slipping to a No. 10 seed in the newest ESPN bracketology ahead of the Big Ten Tournament.
That said, a slide to a No. 10 seed may not be the worst thing. Should Iowa be able to handle a first-round game, the No. 2 seeds are not on the same level as the No. 1 seeds this year, and could give Iowa a slightly more favorable chance at an upset.
