Iowa basketball great and current Boston Celtics center Luka Garza is set to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers.
Garza, 27, and Bosnia and Herzegovina meet Türkiye on Thursday, July 2 at 1 p.m. CT inside Arena "Husejin Smajlovic" in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Then, Garza and Bosnia and Herzegovina will play Serbia on Monday, July 6 at 1 p.m. CT inside Aleksandar Nikolic Hall in Belgrade, Serbia.
It's part of the first round in Group C. Bosnia and Herzegovina is currently 2-2 in first round play in Group C. Fans can watch on Courtside 1891 via DAZN.
Garza is coming off his best statistical NBA season. The 6-foot-10 center averaged 8.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game on 57.7% field goal shooting and 43.3% 3-point shooting with the Celtics last year.
Garza was the 2021 Naismith Trophy winner with Iowa as he averaged 24.1 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game on 55.3% shooting and 44% 3-point accuracy in his final season with the Hawkeyes.
