Inter Milan have revived their pursuit of Curtis Jones, reaching out to Liverpool with a proposal valued at £30 million ($40.5 million).
However, that figure still falls short of the £35 million ($47.2 million) asking price the Reds have reluctantly placed on the midfielder.
Jones has just one year remaining on his deal and has been firmly in the sights of the Italian heavyweights throughout the year. The Nerazzurri first opened talks back in January, only to be told Liverpool had no desire to offload players so late in the winter window, as per the Liverpool Echo.

A bid of approximately £21 million ($28.3 million) was swiftly dismissed early last month, with Liverpool feeling at that point that further haggling would be pointless given the considerable gap between both clubs' valuations.
Agents acting on Inter's behalf have since re-established contact with Liverpool, signaling the Serie A team's readiness to increase their offer.
Liverpool, though, were holding firm at £35 million for the city-center-born midfielder, and it remains to be seen whether sporting director Richard Hughes and head coach Andoni Iraola would be willing to approve a sale at this point in time.
Jones has racked up 228 appearances since making his debut in January 2019, but has been seeking more consistent first-team action as a regular starter.

Iraola commented earlier this month that he was hopeful of retaining Jones and tying him down to a new deal on Merseyside, saying: "I will have the chance to speak with him today.
"I rate Curtis very highly. For me he is a great, great player and I hope he can continue with us and continue performing the way he has been performing.
"It's very important that he's scouse, that he's from here. I also like the personality. From the outside at least he looks like a player with good character and I hope we can keep him, not only for this year but for more time."
